OMTech sells the most watts per euro in the hobby-to-small-shop market; xTool sells the smoothest experience. We've priced jobs on both. Here's how to choose.

Verdict: if you are comfortable with a screwdriver and LightBurn, OMTech gives you the most machine for the money — especially a 60–80 W workshop unit. If you want to be cutting an hour after unboxing and value support, xTool is worth its premium, and the P2S is the best "easy CO2" on the market.

FAQ

Is OMTech a good brand?

Yes for value: solid Ruida-based CO2 machines with big beds at low prices. Expect more setup (mirror alignment, bed levelling) and community-driven support rather than a polished app.

Is the OMTech Polar better than the xTool P2S?

The P2S is the more polished machine (cameras, passthrough, 55 W, better software). The Polar is ~€1,500 cheaper for 50 W and cuts nearly as fast — better value if you don't need the cameras.

Does OMTech work with LightBurn?

Yes — almost all OMTech CO2 machines use Ruida controllers, which LightBurn supports natively. xTool machines work with XCS and most also with LightBurn.
