Your files

Files you drop into the calculator are parsed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server. Closing the tab removes all trace of them.

Analytics & advertising

This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.

Data we collect

We do not require accounts or collect names. The only personal data we ever hold is an email address, and only if you choose to give us one by subscribing to the newsletter. Standard web-server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) are kept for security purposes and rotated automatically. When you click a link to a retailer, your browser also records that click in those same logs — we store only which retailer and which page it was clicked from, so we can see which guides are useful. No cookie is set, nothing is stored on your device, and the click is not linked to you or shared with anyone.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your email address and nothing else — no name, no company, no tracking profile. We use it to send occasional laser cutting and engraving tips, settings and workshop notes, roughly once a month. We never sell, rent or share your address, and we do not send it to advertisers.

Lawful basis: your consent, given when you submit the form and confirm it from the email we send you. You are only subscribed after you click that confirmation link (double opt-in), so nobody can sign you up without your knowledge.

Who processes it: subscriptions are handled by MailerLite, an email service provider in the European Union, acting as our data processor. Your address goes to them directly from your browser and is stored on their systems.

How long: until you unsubscribe. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address from the list.

Your rights: under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or have it erased. Email us and we will action it — erasure is immediate and needs no explanation.
