Creality Falcon2 22W settings — cut & engrave cheat sheet

A laser cutting a sheet of plywood on a honeycomb bed

Looking for Creality Falcon 2 22W material settings, 22W LightBurn settings or 22W cut settings? Quick answer: on this 22 W, 455 nm diode, 2 mm basswood engraves at 40% power and 6000 mm/min in one pass, 3 mm black acrylic at 50% and 4000, painted black tile at 50% and 4000, and thin kraft paper cuts at 80% and 4000. Those numbers come from Creality's own Falcon2 22W recommended-parameters page, not from our own shop — confirm them on scrap with a test grid. Speeds are in mm/min, power in percent. Wood cutting rows are left out and explained below.

Creality Falcon2 22W settings (power % / speed mm/min / passes)

These are starting points from Creality's own "Falcon2 22W Recommended Parameters" page on the Creality wiki, not results from our own test cuts — Grafline has not run a Falcon2 22W through its shop. Creality lists engraving and cutting rows per material and thickness; the table below copies the engraving rows and the thin-material cutting rows whole, with the operation label Creality gave each one. Speeds are mm/min, as in LightBurn and LaserGRBL. Confirm every row with a material test grid on a scrap of the same stock.

Wood and acrylic cutting are deliberately not in this table. Creality's page lists single-pass cuts in wood that are much faster than our own 20 W row on the power & speed chart (3 mm walnut plywood at 450 mm/min in one pass, 3 mm basswood at 550, where our chart has 3 mm plywood at 100% / 300 / 2 passes and the Falcon A1 Pro page has 3 mm basswood at 200 mm/min). Creality's opaque-acrylic cuts (100% to 55% at 120 mm/min, one to three passes) also do not line up with our 20 W acrylic row. Until a test grid shows a clean back face, start from the 20 W row of the chart: 3 mm plywood 100% / 300 / 2 passes, 3 mm MDF 100% / 350 / 2 passes, 2 mm leather 85% / 500 / 1 pass. Glue lines in plywood slow a diode a lot; clean basswood is the fastest case.

Other Creality rows left out: brushed stainless steel (80% / 6000), because a ~455 nm diode barely marks bright bare steel — see diode laser metal marking spray; the frosted and transparent coloured acrylic rows, which are odd outliers and, for the transparent ones, material a diode should not be expected to handle. For slate or stone, Creality gives no row; the chart's 20 W figure (70% / 4000 mm/min) is a better start than the painted-tile row above.

Always: run air assist on cuts (the Falcon2 has it built in), set focus with the multi-level focus bar for the exact thickness, and lift the stock off the bed so the beam does not burn the table. Creality's page says the same: the cut line should be suspended, over aluminium or another surface the beam does not burn through.

Falcon2 22W or Falcon2 Pro 22W: does this page cover both?

This page covers the Falcon2 22W only. Creality's wiki has one manual and three parameter pages (12 W, 22 W, 40 W) for the Falcon2, and the table above is from that 22 W page. The Falcon2 Pro is a separate product with its own manual and its own material library on Creality's forum, which we have not used here, so we do not claim these rows for a Pro. If you own a Pro 22 W, use Creality's Pro library and treat this page as a rough cross-check. For the 40 W Falcon2, see Creality Falcon2 settings (40 W).

Bed size: what actually fits

Creality lists the Falcon2 22W engraving area as 400 × 415 mm (wiki FAQ and spec page).

Common stockSizeOn this machine

300 × 300 mm craft ply300 × 300 mmFits

Fitting parts onto the sheet efficiently is where material cost is won or lost. Our nesting tool takes your file and this bed size and tells you parts per sheet; the sheet yield calculator does the same from plain dimensions.

What the Creality Falcon2 22W cannot do

Still sold? Yes, as far as we can see: Creality's store still lists the Falcon2 22W (released February 2023) with a buy button, and Creality's spec page was updated in September 2026. Creality's spec comparison gives 22 W optical power, 25000 mm/min maximum engraving speed and 455 ± 5 nm for the 22 W, and lists colour engraving on the 22 W and 40 W but not the 12 W. We could not load the store product page itself (rate-limited), so stock and the Pro line's status are unchecked.

Troubleshooting: symptom, cause, fix

SymptomUsual causeFix
Cut does not go through, top looks fineFocus set for the wrong thickness, or speed too highRe-set the focus bar for this exact sheet, then slow down before adding a pass. Check the back face.
Engraving looks shallow or washed outFocus off, material not flat, or power too lowCreality's FAQ names focus and material flatness first. Raise power in 5% steps after that.

If none of that helps, work through why won't my laser cut all the way through? or how to stop burn marks on wood.

FAQ

What are the Creality Falcon2 22W material settings?

From Creality's own 22W parameter page: 2 mm basswood engraves at 40% power, 6000 mm/min, 1 pass; 3 mm walnut plywood at 35% / 6000; 0.65 mm brown leather at 18% / 6000; 0.2 mm kraft paper cuts at 80% / 4000. These are starting points, so run a test grid on your own stock.

What are good Creality Falcon2 22W LightBurn settings?

Creality's table is written for LightBurn and LaserGRBL, with power as a percentage and speed in mm/min. Creality's FAQ says the machine reads G-code generated by LightBurn from the TF card. Use Creality's numbers as a start and then run LightBurn's Material Test.

What are the Creality Falcon2 22W cut settings for wood?

Creality's page lists single-pass wood cuts that are much faster than our own 20 W chart row, so we do not publish them. Start from 3 mm plywood at 100% / 300 mm/min / 2 passes and speed up only if a test grid shows a clean back face.

What are the Creality Falcon2 22W acrylic settings?

Creality lists 3 mm opaque glossy acrylic engraving at 50% power, 4000 mm/min for black and 6000 mm/min for purple. The acrylic cutting rows are not published here because they do not match our 20 W acrylic row. The 22W cannot cut clear acrylic.

What are the Creality Falcon2 22W slate settings?

Creality gives no slate row. It does list white ceramic tile painted black at 50% / 4000 mm/min, 1 pass. For slate, our chart's 20 W stone engraving figure of 70% / 4000 mm/min is a better starting point; test on an offcut.

Are these settings for the Falcon2 Pro 22W too?

No. They come from Creality's Falcon2 22W page. The Falcon2 Pro has its own manual and material library, which this page does not use.

Is the Creality Falcon2 22W still sold?

Creality's store still lists it with a buy button, and the 22W has been on sale since February 2023. We could not load the store product page to check stock, so confirm availability with the seller.

What is the Creality Falcon2 22W working area?

Creality's wiki gives an engraving area of 400 x 415 mm, the same as the 12 W and 40 W Falcon2.
